This origami pumpkins completely beginner level.  We are talking early elementary school level.  So intimidation origami, BE GONE!!!   You can totally do this.  If you care for intermediate level origami for Halloween try making a Dementor from Harry Potter.  But if you are more interested in a simple kids activity for a class party or little something to busy hands for a moment, CONTINUE ON!

Supplies you will need

  • 1 square piece of paper (I use 6 in by 6 in, anything larger will work also)
  • OrigamiFoodie’s video (above)
  • a black marker (for making the origami pumpkin eyes, nose and mouth)
  • bandaids, if you get paper cuts –origami is really a low risk activity this rarely happens

purple and orange origami pumpkins |FAvemom.comSo if you have read this blog much you have probably come across my rants about Halloween not being my favorite of holidays.  I do not like the undead.  I dread scary movies.  And there is absolutely nothing I feel worse about than trying to make a good costume.  So overall this is a low season for me.  But I understand many people love Halloween, so go ahead and celebrate.  I also know people who tell me how much they love the harvest themes and fall leave decor.  So by all means celebrate away.  Just don’t expect me to drip with enthusiasm.  I don’t get this holiday!  I just don’t.  I am a chicken, a wimp and this holiday just leaves me uncomfortable to days…..And don’t get me started on how Halloween is a week long celebration now for kids.  All the candy and multiple costume wearing opportunities.

I will calm down now and fold an origami pumpkin, you do one too.  Plus FaveMom is way more festive than me at Halloween.  Check out her Instagram (@favemom) to follow her latest Halloween adventures.
