Epcot®️ International Flower and Garden Festival
Every year in early spring, Walt Disney World® Resort presents Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. This festival is the presentation of floral and fauna at it finest. “The birds sing words and the flowers croon”, but not at the Tiki,Tiki ,Tiki Room. This experience is throughout World Showcase and throughout 11 countries along the route as well as Future World , a vision for tomorrow.
The gardens are alive, literally, butterfly gardens with several dozen species of every color and shape, they flutter in an area designated to be watched over by the fairies and Tinker Bell herself. It’s like walking through a “secret” garden and watch it come to life with the silent beauty of butterflies and fairy topiaries.
Speaking of topiaries, the entire world of Epcot is blooming with character topiaries from almost every Disney movie you could dream of. Beauty and The Beast, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Winnie The Pooh and Friends, Anna,Elsa and all friends from Arendelle are placed near the country of the movie origin. Which in itself is a lesson in history and entertainment.
Visiting almost yearly, this experience, this event, is one of our families favorites. Along with the engaging floral artistry are food pairings throughout Epcot to reflect the flavors of the festival! We never leave hungry, and get to taste a little bit of Paris, Canada, Germany, Morocco and several other kiosks where small plates are set up along the World Showcase loop.
This festival is for the whole family, but, as our boys grew up and are now in their young adult ages, they have come to appreciate the talent, artistry, culinary delights and sounds that are offered here at Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival.
This year the event takes place March 1- May 29th. This gives all those traveling on Easter or Spring Break the perfect place to bloom and grow, eat and be jolly, and enjoy the wonder of this transformation of lands into fantasy through floral, fauna, fairies and just the right amount of magic!
As a flower that blooms through adversity, this place, this festival, is both entertaining and awe inspiring around every river bend and landscape. Let it envelope you and through your senses take you on a trip to be cherished forever.
