Jolly Holiday with Disney | FaveMom.ComIts finally that time of year, that time when pixie dust flies and magic is all around us. Jolly Holiday time.  Kids are getting excited for Santa’s arrival and having that holiday break from school. From the littlest Mouseketeer, to the kid in us all, we are all getting ready for the big day.

When thinking about some of my fondest Christmas memories, so mamy come to mind, but the years we surprised our kids or they surprised me,with a trip to Walt Disney World Resort, were some of my most cherished memories. The look on my boys face, the cheers and laughter that filled the room after the surprise was revealed, were all unforgettable for our family.

The story gets better because there is so much to see and do during the holiday season at Walt Disney World Resort. Let me start with a few of my favorite things!

*Stop #1- The decorations around the entire Walt Disney World Resort property, resorts and every park you visit. They each have their own unique themes and delight you in a way that leaves you ready to yell “Jolly Holiday!”

* Stop #2 -The Candleligh Processional at Epcot. This experience has a Celebrity narrator nightly who tells the story of the first Christmas. An orchestra extraordinaire music fills the air, and the love you feel is so beautiful  it brings tears to your eyes and fills your heart with emotion and joy!

*Stop #3- Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! The cherry on the top of the “kitchen sink” sundae!

Characters are dressed in their holiday finest, carols are being sung, hot cocoa and cookies are at the ready to get in the spirit of the season for all. As the parade marches down Main Street USA, characters singing and dancing along with Cast Members, everyone is feeling the magic. But, when Santa arrives at the end of the parade and the snow falls , every heart is light and filled to the rim!

Stop #4-Holiday Wishes Fireworks light up the night sky for all to amaze at.  Holiday Wishes is shown each night during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a separately ticketed Magic Kingdom evening event offered in November and December. From mid-December until the end of the year, the show replaces Happily Ever After as the evening fireworks show for all park guests.

Stop #5- Gingerbread House tour at resorts. Our favorite by far is the life sized Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa! The fragrance of the Gingerbread is decadent as is the taste of a homemade shingle with a dab of vanilla icing. Each Resort has a custom gingerbread display completely hand crafted by Disney chefs and completes the holiday landscape inside each resort.

I live between our Nation's Capital and North Carolina, love daisies, giraffes, purple, polka dots, Diet Mountain Dew, Doritos, and guns. Not necessarily in that order. I know that I’m very unoriginal and fit most cliches. I won’t try to deny it if you ask me. Ill-advised, indiscreet, and injudicious individuals infuriate I.
