Several years ago, when my mother-in-law was turning 80, I thought it would be a great birthday gift for the two of us to voyage on a Disney Cruise Line cruise.

That year my mother-in-law, Lil, had some health issues , so we put our birthday cruise on hold for a year.

November 2012, we planned our first Disney Cruise Line Cruise. To say we were a wee bit excited, is an understatement, we were over the moon! We were booked on the Disney Dream, Deck 12 Forward. I had looked at all stateroom options and this seemed to fit our needs. It not only fit our needs, it exceeded them. We traveled from New Jersey to Cape Canaveral and we were whisked away right to The Concierge Lounge to have a quick bite, and by noon our stateroom was ready. We loved every inch of this floor, the stateroom with beautiful verandah and club lounge access  was just what a Birthday princess ordered! We watched sunrises, spent days lounging on the adult only deck, some shopping in Nassau and a perfect day complete with a picnic on Castaway Cay. Sunset while dining at Palo, which still is the best dining experience I’ve had on Disney Cruise Line and our voyage had come full circle.

I took advantage of the “on cruise” offer to book another cruise and celebrate another birthday with MomMom!

Years 2013-2015, we did the same 4 night cruise, brought along some friends on one of the  cruises to help celebrate, and with the exception of a stateroom change to a one bedroom suite, deck 12 was our “Happy at Sea Place!”

We enjoyed every meal at Cabanas, Animators Palate,Enchanted Garden  and Royal Palace as well. We treated ourselves to Remy and Palo, adult only fine dining, on each cruise and our love affair with food perfection was born again. Of course, Eye-Scream and Senses Spa were perfect treats each day to remind ourselves that we were truly celebrating life!

This year, 2017, we have planned a very special double birthday cruise for both of us, 50 and 86!!! We are beyond excited!!!!

This year MomMom has two brand new knees, and is learning to get back to walking with her walker and cane. You can’t stop her from the idea of another chance to experience more of our Disney Cruise Line  story. We booked a 7 night cruise to really celebrate BIG on the Disney Magic. Hoping for magic to happen and “pixie dust” to fly, we will be in a handicapped access room to accommodate MomMoms needs, but we are just as excited to spend our days watching the sunrise, sunset, moonrise and glow of the stars, so close you feel you can reach out and grab one!

With Halloween on The High Seas, Marvel Day at Sea, Pirate Night, Shows, Palo dining and a perfect itinerary, we are beyond excited to add to our story.

Here we come Disney Magic NYC, MomMom and Me, a “practically perfect” team to take our birthday wishes out to sea!

Here’s to wishing on stars and dreaming big dreams, and why not……

I live between our Nation's Capital and North Carolina, love daisies, giraffes, purple, polka dots, Diet Mountain Dew, Doritos, and guns. Not necessarily in that order. I know that I’m very unoriginal and fit most cliches. I won’t try to deny it if you ask me. Ill-advised, indiscreet, and injudicious individuals infuriate I.
